Stephen Kinsey Sr. began the Kinsey Funeral Home in Lorain in 1914. Shortly thereafter he moved to Toledo and opened the funeral home at 1935 Consaul St (across the street from the present location). Stephen contructed the current building in 1928. J. Oscar became part of the firm in the 1960s and continued until his death.. Oscars daughter Mariska assumed the operation of the business and continues to serve as a consultant .

The Toledo Kinsey Chapel is located at 2001 Consaul Street just past the corner of Front Street. Traveling on I 280 please exit at the Front Street exit and travel north on Front Street for one half mile to Consaul Street. Turn right on Consaul and the funeral home will be on your left side just across the street from St. Stephen Church.
